Is that better than being turned into a narcissus?
Hard to say… at least the tree got to go swimming after all those years of thinking about jumping in (1945-2011).
If a tree falls in the lake and no one is around to hear it, is the water still frigid?
The answer is a resounding yes, although I was around to hear this particular tree. It made a weird, drawn-out, soggy cracking sound, and I ran to the window in time to see the whole thing make a massive splash! Still, I have every confidence that the water would have remained icy cold even without a witness.
A crack
Long wail
Lone structural fail
Full plunge to
Littoral goo
Goodbye old tree
You stood so well
I miss
My sisters too
Joanna says
plum trees thrive
close together
sisters too
(mushrooms feed and heal trees and sisters)
One True sacred grove
